We are proud to have worked closely with our partner estates for many years.
West Woodhay is a very special, private family home and is exclusively yours for the day.

‘A Secret Rural Idyll’
West Woodhay House, is a Grade 1 listed, private family home, situated close to Newbury. It was designed by Inigo Jones and built in 1635 by Sir Benjamin Rudyard, poet and wit, lawyer and Member of Parliament.
Nestled within 2,500 acres and once owned by famous practical joker Horace de Vere Cole, the House and its spectacular gardens look out over the stunning views of rolling chalk downland and the mirror-calm lake. The estate was sold by the Rudyard family in about 1710 to William Sloper and it must have been he who rebuilt the parish church only a few yards to the south east of the house. The remains of the old church can still be seen today in the gardens.
The House is exclusively yours for the day, with breakfast enjoyed in the delightful Orangery, before our activities commence across the House and grounds. We even take a step back in time in the elegant mazes and kitchen gardens. Once the morning’s activities conclude, we retire to the tranquility of the picturesque terrace for drinks, or delight in a tour of the beautifully curated gardens, glass of English sparkling wine in hand. Guests then have the opportunity to take part in the 'West Woodhay Golf Challenge' and see if they can hit a golf ball across the lake - this is no mean feat we can assure you!
Your day concludes back at the House for a delectable luncheon.
